Our story begins in an era when Tainan's Zhongzheng Road bustled with traffic. At that time, U.S. troops were stationed in Taiwan; while overseas travel was not yet easily accessible, the world quietly found its way in.
The founder’s grandfather started with a simple street stall, carrying his goods on a shoulder pole. Through hard work and perseverance, he gradually laid the foundation for the "Guangfa Department Store" on this historic street.
Later, the next generation took over. With vision and determination, the founder's father introduced imported goods from overseas, offering Tainan’s residents a glimpse into the wider world.
For many, Guangfa was a place of wonder—where everyday life met imagination.

But time never stands still. As the city evolved and the rhythm of life shifted—and as overseas shopping services gained popularity—this once-glorious department store gradually lost its place in the tide of change.
During those years, the owner's father worked tirelessly day and night to hold onto the pride, responsibility, and memories carried by this family business. Life, however, had other plans. He fell ill in his prime and ultimately passed away, leaving behind a story that had not yet reached its end.
At twenty-six, the next generation stood at a crossroads. Leaving would have been easier. But he chose neither to leave nor to give up. Instead, he chose to continue the family’s story—in a new way.
He transformed Guangfa Department Store into Guangfa Hotel:it is not merely a place for travelers to rest, but a time capsule holding the memories of three generations.
